Pascoe Vale Repair Cafe – March 1st 2026

26 February 2026
category: events, groups, whats-on

Our much-loved Repair Cafe is on this Sunday, inviting the community to come together to fix, learn, share skills, and keep useful items out of landfill

Sunday March 1st, 10am to 1pm  |  7 Prospect St, Pascoe Vale (enter via the front garden)

Repair Cafe is all about giving things a second life. Whether it’s a favourite jumper turned holey, a small appliance on the fritz, or a well-worn watch, our volunteer repairers are here to help you troubleshoot and repair rather than replace – saving money, reducing waste, and strengthening community connections along the way.

Who Will Be There This Session?

We have a fantastic team of skilled volunteers ready to assist:

  • Hand Menders (2): textiles, clothing, soft toys, and fabric repairs
  • Sewing Machine Mender: practical stitching and alterations (please have alterations pinned and ready)
  • Electrical Repairers (3): small appliances, sound equipment, and household items
  • Watch Repairer: basic watch repairs and adjustments
  • General Handy People (2): woodwork, mechanical fixes, and assorted repairs

If it’s broken, torn, wobbly, or no longer working as it should, it’s worth bringing along.

What to Bring

To help our repairers give your item the best chance of success:

  • Please bring any spare parts required for your repair (we’re unable to supply replacement components)
  • We ask visitors to limit items to ONE per person so everyone has an opportunity to be seen. If time allows later in the session, we may be able to look at additional items.

Pay-As-You-Feel

The Pascoe Vale Repair Cafe operates on a pay-as-you-feel donation model. Your contribution helps cover materials, tools, and keeps this valuable community program running and accessible to all.

New Ticketing System

For March we’ll be trialing a new ticketing system to better manage wait times and ensure a smoother experience for everyone. We appreciate your patience as we test out this improvement.

Repair Cafe is more than a repair service. It’s a place to share knowledge, meet your community, enjoy a cuppa, and be part of a culture that values care, resourcefulness, and sustainability.

Neighbours helping neighbours is our motto!

We look forward to welcoming you this Sunday at Sussex Neighbourhood House

Next Repair Cafe session will be March 29th – moved a week back due to the Easter holidays
