Borrow an E-bike for FREE at the Merri-bek E-bike Library

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative: the Merri-bek E-Bike Library! This program is designed to give residents a chance to experience the benefits of riding an e-bike or e-cargo bike, all completely free for two weeks.

E-bikes are a fantastic way to get around—whether you’re commuting to work, running errands, or simply exploring the beautiful surroundings of Merri-bek. They’re not only fun and convenient, but also a healthy and environmentally-friendly alternative to driving. Plus, with our E-Bike Library, you can try out this modern mode of transport without any upfront costs.

What’s Included?

When you borrow an e-bike or e-cargo bike from our library, you’ll also receive a range of accessories to make your ride as smooth as possible. These include bike locks for security and child seats if you’re riding with little ones. Our staff is available to assist with the setup of these accessories, ensuring you’re ready to hit the road safely.

How Does It Work?

To participate in the E-Bike Library program, there are just a few simple requirements:

• The program is open to Merri-bek residents aged 18 and over.
• Basic bike-riding skills are needed to ensure you can handle the e-bike comfortably.
• Please bring your own bike helmet, as safety is our top priority.
• You’ll need a secure, off-street location to store the e-bike when it’s not in use.
• Lastly, Bicycle Network rider insurance is required, and our team can help you with this if needed.

This initiative is a wonderful opportunity to explore Merri-bek in a whole new way, while also contributing to a greener, more sustainable community. Whether you’re new to e-bikes or looking to try out a different model, our library is here to support you on your journey.
