Polish Cooking Workshop – Pierogi Making

Date: Saturday 16 August
Time: 1pm – 3pm

Join us for a delicious cultural experience in our Polish Cooking Workshop! Learn how to make traditional Polish pierogi, those soft, pillowy dumplings filled with cheese and potato.

In this hands-on class, you’ll:
✔ Learn to fill, fold, and cook authentic pierogi using pre-made dough
✔ Discover tips and techniques from our experienced instructor
✔ Enjoy a warm, welcoming space where food brings people together

Pattern Making from Loved Garments

Date: Saturday 16 August
Time: 11am – 4pm

Got a favourite piece of clothing you wish you could replicate? In our Pattern Making Workshop, you’ll learn how to create reusable patterns from your much-loved garments without taking them apart!

What you’ll learn:
✔ How to trace and copy patterns from existing garments
✔ Techniques to keep your original clothes intact
✔ Tips on pattern-making tools and materials

Who is this class for?
This workshop is designed for people who already know how to sew and want to take their skills to the next level.

Bring along 2-3 simple garments, plus your own tools if you have them. Pattern-making paper will be provided.


Pests & Pest Control Workshop

Date: 14 August
Time: 7pm – 8:30pm

Keep your garden healthy and thriving by learning how to identify, prevent, and manage common garden pests. This practical workshop covers everything you need to know, including:
✔ How to protect your plants from rats and gall wasps
✔ What to do when Queensland fruit fly appears in your harvest
✔ Managing common pests like aphids, scale, and snails

You’re welcome to bring infected plant samples for discussion (please double zip-lock them first). Perfect for home gardeners looking to grow pest-free produce and flowers!
