Don’t Toss It, Fix It! Repair Café Returns This Sunday

Got a wobbly stool, fraying jeans, or garden shears that have lost their bite? Bring them along to the Pascoe Vale Repair Café this Sunday 6 July from 10am–1pm at Sussex Neighbourhood House (7 Prospect St, Pascoe Vale) and we’ll help you give them a second chance.
Our talented volunteer team is ready to tackle a variety of repairs this month:
-
🔐 1 locksmith & blade sharpener – fixing locks, sharpening kitchen knives and garden tools
-
🔧 3 general handypeople – for small furniture fixes, loose screws, and general repairs
-
🧵 1 heavy-duty sewing machine repairer – for sturdier fabric fixes
-
✂️ 2 hand-menders & textile repairers – patching, stitching, and bringing garments back to life
-
🔌 3 electricians – to help with broken appliances, lamps, cords, small electronics, and sound equipment
There’s no need to book, just drop in with your repairable item and any spare parts it might need. Our friendly front desk volunteers will walk you through the process.
Pay-as-you-feel donations help keep the Repair Café running and accessible for everyone.
While you’re here, you can also drop off items for our sustainability initiatives:
♻️ Coffee capsules (aluminium only)
♻️ Bread tags & bottle lids
♻️ Preloved containers (Project Pair Up)
♻️ Reusable shopping bags
♻️ Laptop donations (GleeGivers)
♻️ Eligible 10c containers (Recycle4Change)
♻️ Keep cup drop-offs
Every small repair helps us reduce waste, save resources, and build a more sustainable community, one item at a time.
